ACCESSIBILITY

We offer the following services to ensure compliance with Texas Accessibility Standards (TAS) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA):

We perform plan reviews for compliance with Texas Accessibility Standards (TAS). Plan Reviews performed by AHSC LLC shall not be construed in any way as acceptance of responsibility for compliance with Article 9102, Texas Civil Statutes. Such responsibility shall remain with the design professional and/or the owner of the facility, as stipulated by the Statute. The Plan Review procedure is outlined below.

What To Submit For Plan Review(s)

  • One complete set of construction documents and specifications for all disciplines, with the Site Plan and Floor Plan affixed with the seal of the design professional, not more than 5 days prior to submittal. (The signed, sealed, and dated requirement applies only to registered design professionals as mandated by State Law.)
  • A fully completed and current Architectural Barriers Project Registration Form or Project Registration Confirmation Page.
    If any variances have been requested from TDLR prior to submittal of documents, a copy of the completed Variance Application form and TDLR's response, if received.
  • A check payable to AHSC LLC for the Plan Review Fee and Review Filing Fee is shown in the AHSC LLC Fee Schedule. Use the construction cost on the AHSC LLC fee schedule to determine the appropriate fee.

AHSC provides inspections for compliance with the Texas Accessibility Standards (TAS). We conduct both special and general inspections and provide a full report with photos upon completion of the inspection.

The procedures for submittal of a request for inspection services is outlined below.

How to Submit a Request for TAS Inspection Services

  • A transmittal letter on company letterhead requesting us to conduct the inspection.  The project name and address that was originally used to register the project with TDLR is required.
  • A copy of the original Architectural Barriers Project Registration Form from your design professional or the TDLR Project No. issued by TDLR when the project was registered.  If you are unable to provide either of these items, please provide as much project information as possible.
  • A check payable to AHSC LLC for the Inspection Fee and Inspection Filing Fee amounts shown in the AHSC LLC Fee Schedule.  Use the construction costs provided by the design professional in the project registration form to determine the applicable inspection fee.

  1. AHSC LLC provides inspections for compliance with ADA under the 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design and the 1991 ADA Standards.
  2. A letter of substantial compliance will be provided if all building and site elements are found to be incompliance with the 2010 ADA Standards or the 1991 ADA Standards.
  3. An inspection report will be provided for all cited violations.
  1. AHSC LLC provides asbestos inspections as required by Texas State Law.
